  • Learn basic data entry and formatting techniques (number formats, alignment, fonts).
  • Master Excel shortcuts and basic functions (cut, copy, paste, undo).
  • Create and use basic formulas (SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, MIN, MAX).
  • Practice with cell references and error-checking methods.
Day 2

Data Management and Advanced Formulas

This day develops skills in managing data and applying advanced formulas to enhance financial analysis accuracy and efficiency. Participants will learn key functions useful in financial tasks. The topics covered will include:

  • Understand and apply financial functions (PV, FV, NPV, IRR) for time value of money calculations.
  • Use loan and investment functions (PMT, IPMT, PPMT) for financial decision-making.
  • Calculate depreciation using various methods (SLN, DB, DDB).
  • Build financial reports and dashboards using Excel.
  • Use sparklines and conditional formatting to highlight financial insights.
Day 4

Advanced Data Analysis

This day focuses on advanced analysis techniques, including PivotTables, charts, scenario analysis, and optimization tools. Participants will strengthen modelling capability. The topics covered will include:

  • Create and customize Pivot Tables to analyze financial data.
  • Visualize financial data trends with Pivot Charts.
  • Group data in Pivot Tables for more effective analysis.
  • Utilize Excel’s Goal Seek and Solver for financial modeling and optimization.
  • Perform scenario and sensitivity analysis using Data Tables and “What-If” analysis.
Day 5

Financial Modeling & Automation

This day teaches participants how to build financial models and automate processes to save time and improve accuracy. Participants explore linking statements and using Power Query. The topics covered will include:  

  • Build a basic financial model (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Link financial statements and create dynamic financial models.
  • Forecast and make assumptions for financial modeling.
  • Learn basic Excel automation with Macros to improve efficiency.
  • Use Power Query to import, clean, and manage financial data.

  • On successful completion of this training course, GLOMACS Certificate will be awarded to the delegates.
