  • Overview of the full recruitment lifecycle and its components (workforce planning, sourcing, selection, onboarding, retention) — setting a holistic view.
  • Forecasting & workforce needs analysis: identifying skill gaps, critical roles, succession planning.
  • Internal vs. external recruitment strategies; proactive vs reactive hiring.
  • Building a long-term recruitment plan aligned with business growth and strategy.
  • Self-assessment of your current interviewing skills.
Day 2

Employer Branding, Talent Attraction & Job Definition

Sourcing, Screening & Assessment Techniques

  • Sourcing strategies: active vs passive sourcing, leveraging networks, online platforms, databases, social media.
  • Initial screening methods: resume/application review, screening tools and assessments, short-listing to save time and reduce bias.
  • Competency-based and behavioural interviewing techniques; preparing structured interview questions based on role criteria.
  • Use of psychometric/personality profiling, ability testing, assessment centers (when applicable), and reference checks.
  • Legal, ethical, and fairness considerations in selection, screening and assessments. 
Day 4

Interviewing, Decision Making & Candidate Evaluation

  • Preparing for interviews: interview room/ environment setup, structure: opening, probing, follow-up, scoring mechanisms.
  • Writing down final interview questions (scene-setters, competency-based, situational, behavioural), scoring criteria, and evaluation forms.
  • Understanding and interpreting candidate’s body language, detecting inconsistencies, evaluating soft-skills vs declared skills.
  • Conducting different types of interviews (face-to-face, phone/Skype / remote), adapting to context, and scoring them.
  • Making selection decisions: combining interview outcomes with test results, reference checks, cultural fit, and role competencies.
  • The growth of mental illness and the impact on recruitment.
Day 5

Onboarding, Metrics, Continuous Improvement & Recruitment Strategy Roadmap

  • Strategic onboarding: designing onboarding processes that integrate new hires into company culture and support retention.
  • Linking onboarding with performance and long-term retention strategies — building feedback loops and follow-up.
  • Recruitment metrics & dashboards: what to measure (time-to-hire, quality-of-hire, candidate experience, diversity, retention), how to track and analyse success.
  • Utilising technology and analytics (e.g., Applicant Tracking Systems, data-driven sourcing and selection, video interviews) to streamline processes and measure the cost of bad recruitment.
  • Building a long-term “talent acquisition roadmap” — aligning recruitment practices with evolving business needs, workforce trends, employer brand management.
  • Final wrap-up: practical action plan for participants to implement in their organization.
